Comfort & Joy is one of the longest-running queer camps on playa - a colorful, deeply participatory home for people who believe Burning Man can be more than a party. We come to Black Rock City to help build a world where freedom is real, self-expression is sacred, and comfort, pleasure, play, and belonging are not luxuries, but something everyone deserves to share.
This is not a spectator camp. It is a village we build together.
At Comfort & Joy, radical inclusion means more than a slogan. We create space where people can arrive as they are, experiment with who they’re becoming, and feel held by community while they do it. We welcome seasoned Burners, curious first-timers, queers, allies, artists, dancers, lovers, weirdos, organizers, and anyone ready to participate in something bigger than themselves.

The Afterglow Tent
Our gift to Black Rock City is Afterglow - a 24/7 oasis for lounging, connecting, dancing, and play. By day, it’s a shady refuge with art, color, music, and room to exhale. By night, it comes alive with DJ parties, performances, and the electric social alchemy that happens when bodies, beats, and possibility meet in the dust. There’s a swamp cooler to keep things fresh, plenty of atmosphere, and an open invitation to adults 18+ across playa to come in and experience the magic.
A Home For
New Burners
We are proud to bring fresh souls into the dust. Last year, 40% of our campers were Burn virgins. That’s not an accident - it’s part of who we are. We love helping first-timers find their footing, discover their people, and pop their playa cherry in a camp that is warm, welcoming, and actually invested in their experience.

The Pink Gym
Need to move your body before the party, after the party, or in lieu of emotional processing? The Pink Gym is our 24/7 fully stocked gym, open to anyone on playa who wants to get strong, sweaty, and a little bit fabulous.

Comfort & Joy brings serious creative energy to the desert. Our camp features a massive stage and a lineup of DJs, performers, and programming throughout the week - because joy is not passive, and liberation deserves a soundtrack.
